Trae Young Declares Stephen Curry as the Best Point Guard of All Time

The debate to define the best point guard in the history of basketball has been entertained by the figures of Stephen Curry and Magic Johnson, however, one of the best active PGs considers that the one from the Golden State Warriors has the advantage over any other.

Trae Young, point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, declared in the latest episode of his ‘From the Point’ podcast that Curry is the best point guard of all time and praised his ability to share his knowledge in the form of advice.

“(Curry) is probably the greatest point guard of all time, so you have to pick his brain as much as you can and learn as much as you can from someone like him,” Young said. “Especially, because of the kind of person he is, he will give you advice if you ask him.”

Curry and Young practiced together during the offseason and the Hawks guard shared photos from the practices. The training was led by Brandon Payne of Accelerate Basketball, who serves as the four-time NBA champion’s personal trainer.

Curry’s numbers that would allow him to be the best PG

One of the reasons why Curry can be considered the best point guard of all time is because of his scoring ability behind the three-point line. His ability to make three-pointers changed how basketball is played today and the nine-time All-Star has made 3,390 three-point baskets.

The main aspect against Curry is the number of assists achieved in his career. So far, the Warriors point guard has 5,740 while Magic has managed to add 10,141. The historical leader in this area is John Stockton with 15,806.
