Toronto Raptors Extend Scottie Barnes’ Contract through 2025 Season

The Toronto Raptors have exercised their option in Scottie Barnes’ contract to secure his services until the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season.

This is what the organization indicated on Wednesday, without however revealing the financial implications of this decision.

In 77 games last year, the 22-year-old American averaged 15.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

Barnes was selected by the Raptors with the fourth overall pick in the 2021 draft. The following season, he was chosen as the NBA’s Most Outstanding First-Year Player.

The Florida State University product is the only player in history drafted by the Canadian organization to have amassed at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in his first two seasons.

The Raptors begin their 2023-2024 campaign on Wednesday evening, receiving a visit from the Minnesota Timberwolves at Scotiabank Arena.
