Judoka Tim Gramkow from the Hanover Performance Center was able to celebrate a sense of achievement. In Prague he won the bronze medal at the European Open. Things didn’t go so well for the women from Hanover in the Czech Republic.

Hanover. Tim Gramkow’s dry spell is over. At the European Open in Prague, the Sarstedt judoka from the Hanover Performance Center made it onto the podium again. He took bronze in the class up to 81 kilograms.

In the preliminary round, Gramkow moved into the semi-finals as pool winners with four wins. There he lost against the eventual tournament winner Giacomo Gamba from Italy, but in the fight for bronze Gramkow was on top again and defeated his national team colleague Lukas Vennekol from Munich.

The women from Hanover were less successful. Laila Göbel (up to 57 kg) was eliminated after winning a fight in round two against eventual finalist Martha Fawaz (France). Friederike Stolze (up to 70 kg) also didn’t make it any further. In round two the final stop was with the Italian Clemence Eme.
