A total of 24 countries will participate in the 2024 European Championship.
In addition to host country Germany, there are 20 participants from the European Championship qualifying groups. All group winners and runners-up qualify.
The other 3 lucky ones come from play-offs, which are based on the results in the UEFA Nations League. No fewer than 12 countries from the Nations League will participate in the play-off.
Namely the 4 group winners of each of the 3 leagues A, B and C. Per league, 1 country will qualify for the European Football Championship. Has anyone already qualified through the qualifying rounds? The next highest ranked country then qualifies for the play-offs.
The schedule of the European Championship play-offs consists of two semi-finals and a final. The matches are scheduled for March 2024.
The draw for the European Championship will take place four months earlier on December 2, 2023 in Hamburg.
