The pure judo girls group, the “Power Girls”, founded by trainer Anamaria Budiu from TUS Bad Aibling, celebrated their one-year anniversary in their dojo, the martial arts room in the sports hall of the Bad Aibling sports park.

Bad Aibling – What started out with a handful of girls one year and has grown into a powerful group of around twenty people. At the beginning of the training, the young judo ladies completed one unit. In this context, a belt test also took place before they celebrated their group’s “birthday” extensively.

Paula Mayr and Evelyn Petter achieved the eighth Kyu, the white-yellow belt, under the strict eyes of examiners Helge Derx and Anamaria Budiu.

Judo should become more attractive for girls

Department head Denis Weisser congratulated: “Congratulations to the young ladies, both on their one-year anniversary and to Paula and Evelyn on achieving the white-yellow belt. You can be proud of your performance. A big thank you and big praise, especially to founder and trainer Anamaria, without whom the ‘Power Girls’ wouldn’t exist!”

The offer of all-girls training in Bad Aibling makes the sport of judo even more attractive and easier to access for young female athletes in the region. Department head Weisser says: “Sometimes girls don’t have the courage to take up martial arts at first, for example when a training group consists largely of boys. Here we offer an alternative. Dear ‘power girls’, please keep it up, have the courage and have a lot of fun!”
