The Port of Las Palmas begins its 2035 strategic plan |

The Port Authority of Las Palmas (Spain) has taken an important step by opening a tender procedure to carry out technical assistance tasks in the preparation of its 2035 strategic plan. The last strategic plan of the Canary Islands ports dates back to March of 2009, with a scope until 2020. In this context, Puertos del Estado has drafted a new Strategic Framework of the Port System of General Interest, ratified in September 2022.

A necessary strategic adaptation

Considering these circumstances and the gap in the previous strategic plan, the Canary Islands Port Authority has recognized the need for strategic reflection and adaptation. This becomes even more relevant with the new Strategic Framework for State Ports, which implies a profound rethinking of ports of general interest.

Furthermore, the current situation demands strategic reflection with a long-term vision, until 2035, to face new challenges and establish a renewed roadmap. This will ensure the competitiveness of port facilities and services, contributing to prosperity, job creation and social well-being in the Canary Islands.

A comprehensive plan for the future

The strategic plan will address strategic proposals for each of the ports under the jurisdiction of the Port Authority, taking into account their particularities in commercial, logistical, industrial, tourist and citizen use terms. The scope of this technical assistance will include a review of the mission, vision, values, key success factors, strategic axes and necessary projects, as well as action plans for strategic deployment and their execution control.

This project will be carried out within ten months and has a base bidding budget of 300,498.80 euros, with an estimated contract value of 280,840 euros. The Port Authority of Las Palmas is committed to establishing a comprehensive strategic plan that will guide its development and future growth.
