The Indonesian U-17 National Team Secures Second Victory in Germany

The Indonesian U-17 national team achieved their second victory in Germany, after defeating the local VFL Osnabruerck U-19 team in a trial match held on Thursday (5/10/2023) local time.

In that match, the Indonesian National Team made by Bima Sakti won with a score of 2-1. Garuda’s two goals were scored by Ji Da Bin and Muhammad Aulia Rahman. Brazilian defender Welber Jardim has also been involved in the match.

Welber, who wore jersey number 12, was seen playing in a photo uploaded by Jehan Pahlevi, also a U-17 national team player, on Instagram on Friday (6/10/2023).

As reported on the official PSSI website, in this match the Indonesian U-17 National Team was actually more pressured by the game of their opponents who were more dominant in possession of the ball.

However, thanks to the players’ persistence, finally through Ji Da Bin, Indonesia opened the scoring early in this match with a beautiful shot in the 42nd minute.

Starting the second half, Indonesia was more confident in building attacks. In fact, Indonesia was able to launch attacks several times, but still found a dead end.

The long-awaited second goal came in the 80th minute. Muhammad Aulia Rahman scored a goal after taking advantage of the opponent’s mistake. In the 90th minute the opponent reduced the score by scoring a goal using a cross from the left side.

This is the second victory in three test matches in Germany.

In the first trial, the national team, which will represent Indonesia in the U-17 World Cup, had to recognize the superiority of TSV Meerbusch U-17 with a narrow score of 0-1.

Young Garuda achieved their first win when they met SC Paderborn Youth last week. They won with a score of 1-0 thanks to a goal from Nabil Ashura.

Welber Jardim himself has only joined the Indonesian U-17 National Team in Germany for a week. He just left for Germany after helping his Sao Paulo team in the U-17 Copa Buh in Brazil.

The teenager, who was born to a mother from Banjarmasih, is known to be fluent in playing as a right-back. Coach Bima Sakti once said that Welber was the only Indonesian U-17 national team player who had international standards.

Welber Jardim and the Indonesian U-17 National Team will undergo a training camp in Germany until 23 October, before returning to Indonesia to make preparations for the U-17 World Cup in November.
