The DFB team with the new national coach Julian Nagelsmann is currently on tour in the US. During the international trip, the German national team will meet the USA and Mexico. When the games are – and who is broadcasting them.
The German national soccer team set off on its controversial international trip to the USA on Monday. Among other things on the program: a visit to the Boston Bruins’ National Hockey League (NHL) opener on Wednesday, a meeting with the head of the Boston Red Sox baseball team and with the owners of the New England Patriots. The DFB selection trained on their premises for the first time on Tuesday under their new national coach Julian Nagelsmann.
There are also two test matches coming up. First the DFB team meets the American team, then Mexico awaits a few days later. But when do the games take place and where will they be broadcast on TV?
Home European Championship in sight
After the first training session in the USA at the latest, it is clear: a successful home European Championship in 2024 – which will take place next year from June 14th to July 14th – is the goal, not a souvenir from America.
National team captain Ilkay Gündogan described the infectious “power” of the new DFB head coach during his debut in America as follows: “You notice the drive, you notice the motivation.” Striker Niklas Füllkrug said: “Julian Nagelsmann is a perfectionist who gives us can make everyone better.”
When are the next international matches?

Three new ones and one veteran in America
A total of 26 players traveled to America – including three DFB newcomers: VfB kicker Chris Führich, Robert Andrich from Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin’s Kevin Behrens. Offensive player Führich was particularly noticeable. Nagelsmann nominated him because the 25-year-old has “very good momentum right now”, i.e. a run. In the current Bundesliga season he has prepared five goals and scored two himself.
With his quick turns and dribbling, he caught the eye of the ex-Bayern coach in training and received praise from his new colleagues. “He is an excellent one-on-one player,” the national coach remarked. In addition, Mats Hummels from BVB is back, a veteran who no longer played a role under former national coach Hansi Flick.
