National Hockey League (NHL) Vancouver Canucks coach Riks Tokets has revealed that Latvian forward Teodors Bļugers will not go on the team’s upcoming away tour due to an injury.

Blüger scored a goal in the final tryout game on October 6 against the Calgary Flames, but also suffered a knee injury while blocking an opponent’s shot. Two days later, he took part in the Canucks practice, but left after 15 minutes.

Since then, Blügers has not participated in training, and he also missed the first match of the regular season. Although Blüger’s appearance in the game, where the Canucks defeated the Edmonton Oilers 8-1, was under a question mark, and it was also expected that he could already start working with the team, the Latvian’s injury is still more serious than planned. After the Canucks’ practice squad on Friday, captain Toket revealed that Blügers will not be helping the team in the coming weeks.
