Texas Rangers Defeat Baltimore Orioles 7-1, Advance to AL Championship Series in MLB 2023 Season

The Texas Rangers won 7-1 over the Baltimore Orioles, with a decisive hit by Cuban José Adolis García, and advanced to the American League Championship Series in the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) season.

The Texan team returned to this stage after 12 years, and is expected to face the Houston Astros, who lead the other series against the Twins. Will there be a duel between Cubans, with the possible confrontation between García and Abreu and Yordan? Everything indicates yes.

The Orioles’ starter, the Israeli-American Dean Kremer (1.2, 7 H, 6 ER, 2 HR), could not contain the attack of the Rangers, who scored early with a home run by Corey Seaguer in the first inning.

In the second inning, Mitch Garver drove in two runs with a double, and Adolis García sealed the score with a three-run home run through left field.

García had a great performance in the decisive game against the Orioles, going 2-for-4, with three RBIs and one run scored. In 24 at-bats this postseason, the man from Avila is averaging 292, with two homers and five RBIs.

Adolis García passes with Rangers, more are expected

In another duel of the day, two other Cubans shone with the wood in the victory of the Houston Astros, which left the Twins on the brink of elimination in their stadium at Target Field in Minnesota.

José “Pito” Abreu and Yordan Álvarez were the architects of six of their team’s nine races. The Cienfuegos native hit two home runs and Álvarez from Las Tunas was 3 for 5, with two doubles and a home run.

“We went out there to take good swings and we did it. Obviously the game goes to the one who plays the best and today it was us,” Abreu commented about the match.
