-After continuous analysis we came to the conclusion that numerous changes had to be made in all aspects and structural. We concluded a very successful cycle with a generation of highly accomplished players and coaches. We knew the human quality of each of the members of the team, so they deserve all the recognition and in the new stage that we are going to begin with the 2023 Pan American Games, several of them are going to announce their retirement from the team, so we think about the AmeriCup 2024, which will be made up of the majority who were in the World Cup and a good part of the White Team, which is made up of the players called to take the baton of those who have accomplished great things for the national team. I want to add that José “Grillito” Vargas will be the head, and Professor Alecia Landaeta will be the training director, Coello reported.

He noted that the new national coach, Daniel Seoane, will have the technical assistance of Yonaiker Ecker, Alexis Cedres and Diego Vásquez. «Seoane was hired from this month until September 2025 as technical director, as well as that of his assistants will begin at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. His commitment to the national team will be full-time and will be in each of the windows of the AmeriCup 2024, which begin next February. In reality, it gives us great satisfaction to have achieved this objective because it is a team of very talented young Venezuelans, who have excelled in the different commitments they have had to face and everything was done as a result of a long and permanent follow-up of each one of them. them,” added the Venezuelan basketball director.

He specified that dialogue is being sought with the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB) and the Women’s Super League (SLF) in order to resolve the internal problems that both organizations have had. «We do not want situations involving teams that have not paid debts to players, coaches and other personnel to have greater significance. All teams must show financial solvency and remain up to date with payments to their members. We do not want interventions in the teams, although there is a proposal from the SPB board that we are studying, which is to become shareholders of the teams that have not paid their debts. We hope to reach a happy conclusion in both leagues for the good of Venezuelan basketball.

He wanted to specify that the women’s Super League has until next month to solve its internal problems and begin its actions with a new edition, because otherwise it will be the federation that would be in charge of organizing and carrying out the championships referring to the ladies, starting in the first half of next year.
