Two years after the difficult Olympic Games in Tokyo, Simone Biles made her return to a major championship.
There were rumors in advance that the American superstar would again suffer from twisties (a form of disorientation), but there was no sign of this in the Antwerp Sportpaleis. Biles demonstrated as usual.
She didn’t even need her new element on the vault – the Biles II – to guide Team USA to a new world title.
The American women (also including Shilese Jones, Leanne Wong and Skye Bkalely) were superior and captured their 7th gold in a row, the 9th in total.
Biles already received her 26th World Championship medal and she can expand her collection in Antwerp in the coming days.
In the battle for places of honor, China and Great Britain failed. Brazil and France picked up the slack with pleasure.
