Serbian Point Guard Vasilije Micic Adjusting to NBA Pace and Space

Vasilije Micic has been, together with Sasha Vezenkov, the two main Euroleague stars who have reached the NBA this summer. The two players will have a difficult time finding a place in their teams’ rotation, but the Serbian point guard is beginning to see more clearly the opportunities to create danger on the court.

“It is a more open space and a very high pace of play compared to the Euroleague,” the new Oklahoma City Thunder player began by acknowledging. «The painting is freer, so there are plenty of opportunities for creative players to get into the paint and create advantages, especially for good ball handlers«.

The presence of the 3-second defensive rule may be something to exploit for Micic, who sees opportunities once he finishes adapting to the league:

“It’s also a little easier to generate from that space. I’m still trying to adapt. Everything is still new to me, but I’m happy because [mis compañeros] They help me learn as quickly as I can. “I think we will all make it together at some point.”

During the preseason, Micic has played two games with the Thunder, in which he has averaged 6.5 points and 5.5 assists – a team high – in just over 21 minutes.
