Schalke 04 Secures First Victory under New Coach Karel Geraerts

Schalke 04 celebrated their first victory under the leadership of Karel Geraerts.

The Gelsenkirchen club won 3-2 against Hanover, 5th in the standings, in a match on the 11th day of the German D2 championship. The “Königsblauen” left the initiative to their opponents before striking on the counterattack.

The former Union T1, who arrived on October 9, lost his first match 3-0 in Karlsruhe last week. The distribution of whistles planned for the Inter-AS Rome match on Sunday, for the reunion between Milan fans and Romelu Lukaku, now a Roma player, was banned by the police, the group of supporters announced origin of this initiative.

“Yet another abuse, whistles have been banned,” the Curva Nord Milano group lamented on its Instagram account on Friday evening.

This group announced last month that it wanted to distribute 50,000 whistles to spectators before the start of the match counting for the 10th day of the Italian Championship.

The whistles, of which they had finally purchased 30,000 copies, were to be “used breathlessly every time whoever betrayed our jersey touches the ball”, explained the group of supporters without naming Lukaku.

The decision was taken by the Milan police, on the recommendation of the Operational Security Group (GOS), responsible in Italy for securing football matches.

Inter ultras, however, planned to defy this ban and give Lukaku a stormy reception.

The Red Devil was, with his 14 goals, one of the architects of the great 2022-23 season for Inter, unfortunate finalist of the C1, where he was on loan from Chelsea.
