Santiago Giménez may be heading to Napoli, Italian media report. The striker is the absolute star at Feyenoord this season and is also on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid, among others. He comes into the picture at Napoli when the club sells Victor Osimhen.

The 24-year-old Nigerian was one of the strongest players of the Naples club last season, which won the Serie A with great dominance. Osimhen scored 31 times and provided 5 assists in 39 matches. This season, the counter stands at six goals and one assist after ten games. The club management reportedly wants 180 million euros for the attacker, who is interested in Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, among others.

Giménez, 22 years old, has flown off the starting blocks this season and has continued his good form from the end of last season. After nine games, the Mexican has twelve goals and two assists. In July, Giménez extended his contract in Rotterdam until the summer of 2027. Feyenoord owns ninety percent of the attacker’s transfer rights, the other ten percent is owned by his former club Cruz Azul.

Mikos Gouka, Feyenoord watcher on behalf of Algemeen Dagblad, said earlier this month that Giménez is slowly becoming untenable for Feyenoord. “He is not a Rotterdammer. He is not a Dutchman. He is Feyenoord, but that is just the club where he has now settled for a while. So if a big club really comes, he will also be gone. Whether this is the right time or not.”

However, his father Christian Giménez assured that, despite the rumors, there is nothing going on. “Ultimately, he is happy at Feyenoord at the moment,” he assured in conversation with La Sexta. The many rumors surrounding his son’s future do not affect father Christian. “I like talking about it,” he says. “It wouldn’t be a good sign if people didn’t talk about him. Santiago is mentally very strong and we try to support him in everything.”
