Salvadoran Athlete Uriel Canjura Wins Bronze Medal in Badminton at Santiago 2023 Pan American Games

CHILE.- The athlete, Uriel Canjura, received the bronze medal he won in the individual modality in badminton at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

At the ceremony, the Salvadoran shared the podium with Canadian Brian Yang, gold medalist, and Kevin Cordón, independent athlete, who secured silver, while the second bronze went to Mexican Luis Garrido.

“It’s a lot of emotion, it’s the greatest thing I’ve ever felt, seeing the El Salvador flag there, it’s something incredible, but I was left wanting to hear the El Salvador anthem at the games,” said Uriel Canjura, medalist in Santiago. 2023.

“This helps me a lot in qualifying for the Olympic Games, but we have to keep pushing,” he added about his participation in the Paris 2024 Games and said that the list is closed in April and that for the moment he is among the participants.
