Carlos Sainz will not be able to participate in the Qatar Grand Prix this afternoon, after suffering a breakdown that Ferrari mechanics were unable to repair in time. An hour and a half before the race, which starts at 7:00 p.m., moments of high tension were experienced in the Scudería pit when a possible leak was detected in the fuel tank of the Madrid driver’s car.
As reported by DAZN F1, the setback in the Spaniard’s car it was serious enough and despite the efforts to repair it against the clock, it has not been possible, finally ruling out the participation of Carlos, who had to start from 12th position on the grid after his problems in qualifying on Friday at the Losail circuit, falling early in the Q2.
The escape continues. I think it doesn’t come out in the race

After filling the tank with fuel to see if they had managed to repair the SF-23, the problem has been repeated, so they have finished the work on Sainz’s car, which unfortunately will not be able to race, as as those from Maranello confirmed a few minutes ago.

Thus, Charles Leclerc remains Ferrari’s only asset in the fight with Mercedes for the constructors’ runner-up position.
