Saina Nehwal has joined South Indian badminton training academy Badminton Pros as a mentor to help groom young shuttlers.
Badminton Pros, South India’s badminton coaching academy, appointed Saina Nehwal as a mentor, solidifying the academy’s commitment to fostering the future of Indian badminton.
Olympic bronze medalist and one of India’s most iconic and successful shuttlers, Saina Nehwal brings her unparalleled experience, dedication and exemplary achievements to inspire the next generation of Indian badminton talent.
“I always wanted to give something back to the sport of badminton, which has given me so much. I sought to collaborate with passionate and like-minded individuals who possess a deep knowledge of badminton and maintain the highest professional standards. I was genuinely impressed with the methodical approach taken to train potential talents and encourage their progress,” said Saina.

He joins compatriots Parupalli Kashyap, gold medalist and Commonwealth Olympian, and Indian badminton player RMV Gurusai Dutt, Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, in this exciting venture, creating a formidable team of mentors dedicated to growth of sports in India.
In her role as a mentor, Saina will supervise and monitor the development of the players, helping them develop mental toughness and excel in their game.
“Having competed at the highest level, I have realized the need for a systematic training approach for aspiring badminton players. I am delighted that Saina, Kashyap and Gurusai Dutt have joined us to contribute their expertise in putting together a comprehensive badminton training programme,” said Anup Sridhar.
