This year, seven Riga teams participated in the junior competition, which took place from October 6 to 8, 2023, in the Curling Hall, Riga. Initially, they were divided into two subgroups, in which they played one-round matches, but in the decisive matches, boys and girls fought separately.
For the girls, in a fierce battle to the last end, the SKOB/Režas team won with a score of 6:5, beating the SKOB/Stabulniece foursome. In the second semi-final, the JKK/Barones team showed a convincing advantage over the SKOB/Dhalivala team, half of which was the first competition in the team, winning with a score of 20:2. SKOB/Dhalivala team celebrated their first victory and 3rd place in the game for 3rd place in a fierce battle. In the final, the JKK/Barones team slowly accumulated points and won the tournament title by defeating the SKOB/Režas team 5:1.
For boys, the KKR/Bunča team automatically qualified for the finals after the group tournament, while the TKK/Zass team won the second place in the finals after winning over KKR/Gnutons with 8:3. This season’s junior boys’ team did not leave any opportunities for the TKK/Zasa team and convincingly won the 1st place with a score of 7-0, becoming the winners of this tournament for the second time.
