PSG superstar Kylian Mbappé’s contract expires next year. According to a Real Madrid board member, the 24-year-old could then play for Los Blancos. Actually, the Frenchman should have changed this summer. But the transfer fee was “crazy”.

Is he going? Does he stay? Is he on strike? No player has fueled the rumors on the transfer market in the past two years as much as Kylian Mbappé. The Paris St. Germain superstar publicly flirted with a move to Real Madrid, but was forced to stay with the French champions. PSG did not let the 24-year-old go and insisted on the existing contract. Mbappé’s strike announcement didn’t last long; he’s now scoring goals for PSG again.

For how much longer? If Jose Manuel Otero Lastres has his way, he will do this for Real Madrid from next season. Lastres sits on the board of the Royals and is sure that Mbappé’s move to Spain will take place in the summer. “Zidane once came at the age of 29, Mbappé will come at the age of 25. “So he has many years left with us,” said Lastres in the live stream on the Twitch channel “Remontada-Blanca”.

In doing so, he indirectly announced the transfer of the striker, who will turn 25 in December. President Florentino Perez also did this some time ago. In June, he answered a fan’s question about Mbappé’s transfer: “Yes, but not this year.”

The transfer fee for Mbappé “was crazy”

Mbappé’s contract only runs for ten months and he can move on a free transfer in the summer. Real’s unsuccessful efforts so far have obviously left no trace. “The relationship between Mbappé and Florentino was never bad. Florentino didn’t hold that against him, but understood the player’s reaction,” said Lastres: “If you look closely, there is not a single inappropriate reaction from Real Madrid towards the player. Rather, he always protected him. It was more the fans who felt mocked.”

Lastres was obviously in a chatty mood about the transfer hiccup: “In order to come, he would have had to forego very high bonus payments that he had agreed with Paris Saint-Germain. The amount we would have had to pay to get Mbappé a year earlier was crazy.”
