Rafael Gil March has been elected tonight as the new president of the Real Club Náutico de Palma. His candidacy has obtained 281 votes, compared to 221 for Bartomeu Berga and 158 for Miguel Matas. The count of the 669 votes cast (the 660 obtained by the candidates plus 9 nine that have been declared invalid) has been extended until 2:00 a.m., when the result has been officially announced.

The new board of directors of the RCNP has called for the unity of all members at a time when the entity, founded as such in 1948 but whose roots date back to 1891, is fighting to preserve its historic facilities in the port of Palma.

Rafael Gil, whose mandate will last until 2027, has placed the conservation of the concession as the absolute priority of his team and has committed to continue betting heavily on the promotion of sport, the club’s main statutory objective.
