Qualifier Laura Siegemund Advances to Semi-Finals, Set to Return to Top 100 in World Rankings

In the fight for the semi-finals, qualifier Siegemund will face Italian Jasmine Paolini. Next week she will also return to the top 100 in the world rankings for the first time in around two years.

So far this season, Siegemund has only made it past the round of 16 on the WTA tour in July at the tournament in Warsaw, where she only failed in the final against French Open winner Iga Swiatek (Poland). In addition to Maria, Tamara Korpatsch (Hamburg) was also eliminated in the first round in Zhengzhou; no other German players were at the start.
