During the previous summer transfer window, Mauro Icardi definitely committed to Galatasaray where he made an excellent start to the season as evidenced by his 12 goals in 14 matches. Cenk Ergun therefore ignites for his attacker.
“For me, it’s a phenomenon”
“For me, he’s a phenomenon, one of the strongest players I’ve seen since I was at Galatasaray: he doesn’t see the goal, he feels it. Only the best attackers have this characteristic. In Italy, you’re all crazy about Lautaro Martinez, who had a lower goal average than Mauro and whose Inter team was much less competitive. This is why I tell everyone that he is the strongest,” assures the sports director of Galatasaray to the Gazzetta dello Sport, before continuing.
Icardi impresses
“In Italy, some of his behavior caused a lot of controversy, but he gave us a completely different impression, that of a good man and a beautiful family. When he is away for a few days, he spends all his time with his wife and children, who love walking around Istanbul. Wanda visits mosques whenever she can,” adds Cenk Ergun.
