Prosecutor’s Office presents 333 complaints for fraud in one year – El Sol de México

Between September 2022 and 2023, the Federal Tax Prosecutor’s Office (PFF) presented around 333 complaints for alleged crimes of tax fraud and its equivalents, said the head of the organization, Arturo Medina Padilla.

Before the Finance and Public Credit Commission of the Chamber of Deputies (SHCP), Medina Padilla explained that the complaints presented by the PFF represent an amount of approximately 45,684 million pesos.

He added that the organization has also followed up on 1,439 criminal proceedings before the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF), of which only 65 obtained convictions and in 53 of them compensation for damage was ordered for an amount of 1,858 million. of pesos.

“Despite being a historic recovery, there are still very important pending issues, since on multiple occasions after months or years of knocking on the door of federal judges, this door of the criminal process is barely opened,” stressed the head of the PFF.

Additionally, in recent months the PFF also filed 35 complaints against montadeudas, which is what is known as criminal organizations that offer loans in applications and extort their clients.

According to Medina Padilla, these are technological platforms or companies that are not regulated by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV), while the crimes of illegal extrajudicial collection, fraud and extortion are pursued.

“The PFF works to defend the interests of the federation in all matters in which the federal treasury is compromised, and will always seek to comply with the legal provisions on fiscal, financial and budgetary matters,” the official concluded.
