Last Thursday, the Longest Table was organized in Winkelhof as part of the Week of Loneliness. A week that is all about connecting with each other, having contact with each other and having an eye for others.
There were 100 registrations for this event and the organization is considering expanding next year so as not to disappoint people. On the square in front of the Hema, a lunch table had been created for the guests. From 12 noon people were welcomed with a cup of coffee and then lunch was served. The duo Cees&Co provided background music and you could see that everyone was having a good time. Mayor Driessen opened the Longest Table for her last time and also took part in the lunch and spoke with many guests.
Neighborhood cuppa
Last Friday we started with “Buurtbakkie op Vrijdag” in the Sterrentuin in Leiderdorp. Everyone is welcome every week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to play a game, do a puzzle, read the newspaper, have a chat, but you can also ask questions about WMO or questions about your mail.
The financial consultation hours will also be held in the Sterrentuin from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the range of activities will be further expanded in consultation with visitors.
Sports connects
At the same time, sports group De Does has started a senior activity in the De Does sports hall on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The class starts with an hour of aerobics. Strength, coordination and flexibility exercises to music
There is then a break during which people drink a cup of coffee or tea together in the catering area. After the break, various activities are organized, such as volleyball, badminton or table tennis.
