Lake Albano in Castel Gandolfo hosted the charity and solidarity initiative Pink Butterfly Dragon Boat Festival.

The initiative, organized by the Pagaie Rosa association with the collaboration of the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation and under the patronage of the Municipality of Castel Gandolfo, sent a strong signal of support to all women who have faced surgery for breast cancer .
The festival took place starting from the CONI federal center. Canoeing can represent much more than a sporting discipline, it is in fact an authentic rehabilitation tool after oncological interventions, giving women the opportunity to find themselves and rediscover the strength of body and spirit.
The initiative recorded the presence of the mayor of Castel Gandolfo Alberto De Angelisof the tourism delegate Tiziano Nutileof the Mayor of Marino Stefano Cecchi and the president of Federcanoa Luciano Bunfiglio who shared and enthusiastically supported the event’s mission.
“A fundamental social and sporting activity to be supported every time to amplify the message it brings with it” underlines the mayor of Castel Gandolfo Alberto De Angelis.
“These initiatives must be encouraged by the institutions. I thank the Pagaie Rosa association, the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation and all the participants for making a day possible where the color pink symbolized not only a struggle, but above all a celebration of life, union and hope” adds the councilor municipal delegate for Tourism, Tiziano Nutile.
The “Pink Paddles” demonstrate, through this initiative, how sport can become a vehicle for a positive and constructive message and how support and solidarity are precious allies in the path of healing and rebirth.
