The Peruvian Archery team had a good participation in the South American Championship by winning one gold medal and two bronze medals in the Under-18 category. The tournament was held in Guayaquil (Ecuador).
The winners of the medals were Alexandra Zavala and Beatriz Aliaga, members of the Athlete Support Program (PAD) of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD).
Alexandra Zavala won gold in the recurve bow specialtyabove Isabelle Trinidad (Brazil) and Alma Pueyo (Argentina).
In addition, she won bronze in the qualifying round with a score of 613, which helped her surpass the national record she held with 584 points.
The other bronze medal was thanks to Aliaga, in the compound bow modality in the senior female category.
