A huge crude oil distillation complex (CDU) of the Mexican oil company Pemex, with the capacity to process 312,500 barrels per day (bpd), was closed this Monday at the Deer Park refinery, in Texas, sources close to the operations stated.
Pemex is attempting to determine the cause of the shutdown with the goal of quickly restarting the 270,000 bpd DU-2 segment at the distillation plant, the larger of the two sectors at the refinery.
