Oviedo’s accounts: the dismissals of Tito and Bolo raise the deficit to 2.7 million

Real Oviedo already has ready the accounts that it will present at the shareholders’ meeting, to be held on November 16 starting at 5:00 p.m., in its first call, in the Príncipe Felipe auditorium. In them, the club presents losses of 2,765,097.99 euros in the last season, 2022/23. To compensate for the gap, the report confirms that the capital increase led by the Pachuca Group meant an injection of 2.8 million for the entity’s coffers, as reported by LA NUEVA ESPAÑA; specifically: 2,799,934.50 euros. The negative result, explains the club, “is based on the majority shareholder’s commitment to forming a high-level sports team to achieve all the sports objectives set, as well as continuing to allocate resources to the training of the grassroots football quarry.”

The accounts also explain the situation with the League’s loan with CVC funds. Last year, Oviedo accessed 1,488,324.13 euros of said financing. You still have the possibility of accessing another 6,456,249.43 euros of the 11.2 million that La Liga made available to you regarding CVC.

Expensive layoffs

Among the figures that draw attention, the club reports having received 486,138 euros for its league classification of the previous year and, notable for this concept, 421,864 euros for the Copa del Rey dispute, a competition in which it faced Atlético de Madrid at the Carlos Tartiere. By subscribers and members it reached 2.8 million.

The club also significantly expanded its income from marketing (1.5 million compared to 1.1 million the previous season) and advertising (3.5 million compared to the 3 immediately preceding).

Changes to the club’s organizational chart also led to expenses. Thus, compensation to non-sports personnel is estimated at 457,369 euros, which includes the dismissal of former sports director Tito Blanco, inherited by Pachuca from the previous owner. Regarding compensation to the “sports team”, that is, terminations of players and the coach (Jon Pérez Bolo), the cost for the club was 675,877 euros. In exchange, the club received 360,000 euros in consideration for the transfers, which included those of Pierre Cornud and Javi Cueto.

Tartiere Improvement

The cost of the works at the Carlos Tartiere is also estimated, with a new video scoreboard, electrical installations, lighting, public address system, UTV screen… To which are added new equipment for the office and material for the gym, with a cost that rises to just over 1 million euros.

Pachuca, more owner

Furthermore, the report presented by the club reveals that the dominant position of the Pachuca Group has been accentuated after the latest capital increases. Now, Jesús Martínez owns 55.51% of the club’s ownership, leaving Carso (Carlos Slim) in second place, with 17.27% of the pie.

Directors’ salary

Another detail that the accounts include: the remuneration to the board of directors, which amounts to 189,328.05 euros. At the last meeting, this remuneration was approved, which, as announced then, would only affect the president Martín Peláez and the director Manolo Paredes.

Budget for this season

Finally, the accounts offer an estimate of income and expenses for the current year. The club speaks of a deficit of 1.2 million, with spending on sports staff of 6,657,000 euros. The general budget, which also includes investment and financing, shows a surplus of 952,770 euros.
