Last week, Oviedo refused to transfer the Carlos Tartiere to Covadonga for the Oviedo team’s Copa del Rey match against Deportivo de la Coruña. The refusal is due to a problem on the Oviedo municipal grass. “CD Covadonga has been informed about the possibility that the match dispute was held at the Carlos Tartiere in Oviedo, obtaining a negative response in this regard,” said the Oviedo team, from the Second Federation, in a statement.

The blue club considered it a risk to authorize that match due to the aforementioned setback on its grass, which is affecting the stadium mats. Oviedo hopes that this problem, which is affecting the stability of the terrain, especially on the left wing, will be solved. The Tartiere grass is not currently giving the problems of yesteryear, but for some time now it is suffering after several seasons at a good level. In fact, lately the first team barely trains in its stadium, when it was common to do so at least once every fortnight. Covadonga, after Oviedo’s refusal, needs a stadium to host the Cup match against the Galician team, where former blue Hugo Rama plays. One possibility is that he plays in Nuevo Ganzábal.
