Nick Kyrgios commented on the GOAT debate on the Hotboxin’ podcast with Mike Tyson – and called Novak Djokovic the greatest player of all time. “He’s the best of all time, he’s won 24 Grand Slams and I think he’ll win a few more. It’s crazy. But I think he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves,” explained Kyrgios, who won two of the was able to win three duels against the world number one.
The Australian is behind 3:6 in the head to head against Rafael Nadal, but he has enjoyed playing against the Spaniard comparatively so far, said Kyrgios: “I played very well against Nadal. I had the most success against him, but him still hit me a lot.”
The situation looked different with Roger Federer. “I think Novak is the best of all time, but for me Roger was the most difficult opponent,” revealed Kyrgios. The Swiss “could give you a really bad feeling. No matter where in the world you played against him, he was a fan favorite.”
Kyrgios achieved his only win in seven duels with Federer in Madrid in 2015. For the 28-year-old, who has not been on the tour since the ATP 250 tournament in Stuttgart, this success is still the “most memorable” of his entire career.
