German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl feels a “certain urgency” in the hunt for the NHL title before the start of the world’s best league. But he is no longer the only role model.

Leon Draisaitl recently said in the podcast “The Rink” that it’s “crazy” that time flies. It feels more like “a few years, a few months.” But it’s still true: When the North American National Hockey League (NHL) starts on Tuesday evening (local time), it will be Draisiatl’s tenth season in the strongest ice hockey league in the world. It’s time to win something.

And no longer just individual awards, but the championship trophy, the Stanley Cup. That’s the only thing that interests the German star striker of the Edmonton Oilers. Now he is “27 and not 37” years old, but he “definitely feels a certain urgency”. His contract in Canada only lasts two years, and that of his captain Connor McDavid, the best ice hockey player in the world, has three more years. So this year or next year it should work in Edmonton.
