Netherlands-France: the Blues with Coman, Clauss and Kolo Muani starting

The French team, leader of its qualifying group for Euro 2024, faces the Netherlands in Amsterdam this Friday (8:45 p.m., TF1). And as we expected, Didier Deschamps will line up Randal Kolo Muani up front. The Parisian is preferred to Olivier Giroud and Marcus Thuram to accompany Kylian Mbappé on the attacking front. Kingsley Coman will start well on the right wing, to the detriment of Ousmane Dembélé, preserved due to thigh discomfort.

The composition of the Blues

Maignan – Clauss, Konaté, L. Hernandez, T. Hernandez – Griezmann, Tchouaméni, Rabiot – Coman, Kolo Muani, Mbappé (cap.)

He will have Jonathan Clauss behind him. Back in the selection, the Marseillais is aligned for the first time since September 25, 2022 and the defeat conceded in Copenhagen against Denmark (2-0). A good opportunity to show off for the 31-year-old right-back who now plays in a four-man defense with his club, after having long been considered a pure piston in a five-man defense.

No surprises for the rest of the team. Deprived of many defenders for this gathering (Upamecano, Koundé, Saliba, Disasi), Didier Deschamps trusts in an unprecedented connection Ibrahima Konaté-Lucas Hernandez.
