Musician Ralph Eiland Boycotts Latvian National Football Team Matches After Players’ Gesture

Musician, TV show jury member Ralph Eiland has announced on social site “X” that he will no longer attend Latvian national football team matches. “See you later” – he writes.

He explains that he came to this decision after the Latvian football players decided not to go to thank the fans for their support in the match against the Armenian national team.

Yesterday, the Latvian national football team defeated the Armenian national team with a score of 2:0 in the qualifying match of the European Championship.

“After every match of the Latvian national football team, it is a symbolic courtesy for the players to come to the fan sector and greet with applause, to thank the fans for their support. Today, except for a few players, it demonstratively did not happen. I’m glad for this gesture, because it gave me the answer that the time and gamble I invested was in vain,” Eiland writes on the “X” website.

“I was a fan in vain, I bought tickets, I tried to convince my friends that in addition to hockey and basketball, Latvia also has football (even with heavy losses). I don’t know whose idea it was for such a gesture, but it worked. If you are able to play without fans, then welcome! Today you lost one,” says Ralf.
