Old Bridge Golf Club at Rose-Lambertson is New Jersey’s first new public golf course in more than a decade.

DENVILLE – Michael Knaack scored a second-quarter touchdown, and Tyler Brookes added a third-quarter score to lead No. 4 Morris Knolls past No. 5 Linden 17-7 in the first round of the North 1, Group 4 playoffs Saturday.

The Golden Eagles (6-3) travel to No. 1 Ramapo (9-0) in the sectional semifinals next week.

Morris Knolls limited Linden’s offense to just 40 first-half yards as the Tigers ran just four plays through the first three quarters in the opposition’s end of the field.

Tequan Thomas broke the shutout for Linden (6-3-1) with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Butler with 3:26 left in the contest.

Morris Knolls, which has won two straight games, improves its mark to 2-5 all-time against Union County opponents.
