Minnesota celebrates NHL opening win with Rossi

Led by goalkeeper Filip Gustavsson, who stopped all 41 shots, the Minnesota Wild were pleased with a successful start to the new National Hockey League (NHL) season on Thursday evening (local time). The hosts, who also had Marco Rossi on the ice for 13:03 minutes, defeated the Florida Panthers 2-0. The goals were scored by Joel Eriksson Ek and Brock Faber.

Rossi was able to briefly experience what it was like to be celebrated in the NHL after scoring a goal. However, his goal in the 25th minute was disallowed for offside. He remained without a point in the match. Minnesota will now play the next two games on the road against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens. The Wild will play their next home game on October 19th against the Los Angeles Kings.
