Milwaukee Bucks Rely on Khris Middleton’s Return to Form for Championship Run

Milwaukee begins the 2023-24 campaign with many certainties, but also with some doubts. Those from Wisconsin are clear favorites for the ring after the acquisition of Damian Lillard, but they know that to achieve the desired goal they also need the rest of the players to stay healthy; and yes, that’s right where everyone looks at Khris Middleton.

The forward, once Giannis Antetokounmpo’s second sword, could only play 33 games of regular season last season due to knee problems. Despite this, the Bucks showed their confidence in him by giving him a three-year, $93 million extension this summer. It is one more motivation for a player who in the preseason has only been able to play one game to be on the court for 12 minutes. This is how Middleton explains his feelings.

«I felt like I was myself out there. Now I just have to get used to the different spots on the court, the pace of the attack and also the defensive side, moving my feet a little better. Considering all the circumstances, I think it was a great night », he comments in statements to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.

Far from being in a hurry, the Bucks are clear that they need the best Middleton not now, but as the season progresses. For this reason, they have designed a specific setup for him. We won’t see the best version of him yet, but it will come.
