Micah Parsons Defends Dak Prescott and Calls for Equal Treatment of the Dallas Cowboys

Micah Parsons is fed up.

The Cowboys edge rushing dynamo, who has already picked up five sacks in just six games, has heard all the whispers surrounding America’s team, and more specifically its polarizing man under center, Dak Prescott.

So, following Dallas’ Monday night win over the Chargers — a game in which Prescott led his troops 54 yards down the field to set up Brandon Aubrey’s game-winner — Parsons had plenty to say.

Speaking on his podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons”, the sack specialist blasted those who had the audacity to doubt the Cowboys and their oft-discussed gunslinger.

“I don’t condone the bashing of Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys,” Parsons said.

Prescott was fairly effective against Los Angeles, completing 21-of-30 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown. It was a marked performance from his showcase in Week 5, when he tossed three interceptions to the 49ers defense. He finds himself completing more passes (69.5%) than ever in his career. However, the turnover problem that loomed so large last year has already reared its ugly head once in the campaign.

Parsons’s support goes beyond his hurler, however. He also aired out his frustrations over perceived double standards between the way Dallas is covered and the way other high-profile teams, like the Eagles and 49ers, are talked about. Both sides entered into the weekend undefeated. And both suffered their first blemishes, falling to the Jets and Browns, respectively.

Neither offense was able to produce much of anything in their matchups, a fact that Parsons highlighted repeatedly during his podcast. And yet he feels the conjecture surrounding the two teams following their defeats is vastly more subdued than that of the ‘Boys, who sit second in the NFC East with a 4-2 record.

“We want the same energy for everybody,” Parsons said.

Parsons cited Fox Sports’ Joy Taylor and Emmanuel Acho as media personalities who dissed Dallas and propped up other sides in recent weeks. It was a juxtaposition that he detested.

“Why is it that we are just scrubs and we’re nobodies that don’t deserve to be on the field and we’re just all talk but there’s 100 excuses for these other teams?” Parsons queried.

“If y’all just want to hate Cowboys nation, just say y’all hate Cowboys nation. But don’t sit here and throw shade on us. Keep the same energy for everybody.”
