Marc Marquez officially joined the Gresini Racing team on MotoGP 2024. This news was announced by Gresini Racing ahead of the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP, Thursday (12/10).
“The Gresini family is proud to announce the arrival of Marc Marquez for the 2024 season. The Spanish rider, several times world champion, recently announced his separation from Honda and from next year he will be the new standard bearer of the Gresini MotoGP team together with his brother Alex [Marquez],” wrote Gresini in a release quoted on the team’s website.
“A dream duo strengthened by the Marquez brothers, with Marc fully returning to play in a satellite team who have shown that they know how to express their opinion since their independent return to the first class,” Gresini added.
Gresini Racing CEO Nadia Padovani said the inauguration of Marquez as its racer next season was a historic moment.
“For Gresini Racing this is a historic moment. The fact that Marc Marquez chose to race with us next season is truly fantastic and I am happy to be able to officially announce it,” said Nadia Padovani.
“In less than one season, we have come to love his brother very much, and in the same way we will welcome Marc [Marquez], believes that he has the potential to immediately compete in the Desmosedici GP23. “Finally, a big thank you to Fabio Di Giannantonio for his professionalism and we wish him the best for the continuation of his career,” Nadia Padovani added.
