The condition of the Mandalika Circuit track which was still dirty caused many Moto3 racers to fall during the first free practice (FP1) at the Mandalika GP, Friday (13/10).
In the first eight minutes of FP1 Moto3 Mandalika 2023, six racers had fallen. This is because the grip is still low and the track is still dirty. The race line at the Mandalika Circuit also looks very thin.
A number of racers who crashed at the start of the FP1 Moto3 Mandalika session were Jaume Masia, Filippo Farioli, Syarifuddin Azman, Adrian Fernandez and Kaito Toba. Masia even had two accidents.
MT Helmets racer, Diogo Moreira, was the fastest in FP1 Moto3 Mandalika 2023 with a time of 1 minute 40.590 seconds. The Brazilian racer was 0.421 seconds ahead of Daniel Holgado.
Indonesian racer Mario Aji experienced difficulties in this first free practice session. Mario is in 22nd position, 1.993 seconds behind Moreira’s best time.
The wildcard racer from Indonesia, Fadillah Arbi Aditama, also has not achieved his best performance. Arbi is in 25th position with a gap of 2.474 seconds.
