He Macabi Israelite Club of Mendoza ratified this Friday the decision not to continue participating in the Closing 2023 of the Mendoza Super League, after a ruling issued by the Basketball Federation of the Province of Mendoza (FBPM) for the anti-Semitic chants carried out by the fans of Athens Sport Club.
He FBPM Disciplinary Court resolved on Thursday to apply a financial fine to the institution of Saint Joseph, Guaymallen, and also defined the closure of its court for only three games. He also authorized Macabi to prohibit the public from entering the Apache in Super League matches, over 18 months.

Meanwhile, the members of the court imposed a very harsh sanction on the captain and historic forward of Macabi, Andrés Berman, who was unable to play for eight games. In addition, he will not be able to exercise the captaincy for 16 games.
