The Lunel-Viel Volants club organized a friendly badminton tournament on Sunday October 15 at the Pierre de Coubertin sports hall. An annual tournament which welcomes players from neighboring clubs: Les Zélés du Volant de Vergèze, the Vauvert club, the A Bad Cadabra de Saint-André de Sangonis, the Gallargues-le-Montueux club and that of Montarnaud.
A meeting
After a friendly welcome, the 50 registered players played 22 mixed doubles matches. Then, all the teams met for lunch around a fideua. In the afternoon, 12 men’s doubles and 9 women’s doubles took place. “What is important in the organization of this tournament, which has been organized for around ten years, is the conviviality and the practice of badminton to have a pleasant sporting moment where everyone finds their place and has fun,” comments Florence. This year, the Volants de Lunel-Viel club welcomes 67 adult members and 12 young people aged 8 to 16. Twenty-two club members participated in the tournament this year.
