Laura Garijo, runner-up in the under-17 category, was the most outstanding local athlete in the under-13 and under-17 Master’s degree that was held over the weekend in Oviedo. Garijo beat Carmen Carro, leader of one of the groups in the initial phase, and Ángela Jiménez in the semifinals. In the final she was defeated by Iziar Barcala, from CB A Estrada. In under-13, the most outstanding athletes were Xulia Otero and Maia Freire, first in doubles and protagonists of the individual final, with the victory of Xulia Otero, from the As Neves club. Guillermo González, from Villalba, was first in individual and mixed, in the company of Celia Díaz. Raúl Bergua, from Huesca, in men’s singles; Yulien Gil and Ismael Oballe, in the men’s doubles, and Yaidel Gil and Victoria Gutiérrez, in mixed, were the other winners in under-17.
