Liverpool remains flawless at home this season, although the always charged derby against Everton was very disappointing. Liverpool were only able to distance themselves from 10 of their city rivals late on.
At 38 years old, Ashley Young is full of experience, but the Englishman’s pot boiled over in the derby. After a second foul he was allowed to rest before half time.
Everton now had to defend even more. Amadou Onana, among others, did this excellently for a long time.
Liverpool needed substitute Darwin Núñez to provide an extra spark. A mistake by the Uruguayan initially did not result in a penalty, but then he forced the handball, which was converted into a goal by Mohamed Salah from 11 meters.
