Ligue 1: former sports director of Paris FC, Frédéric Hébert becomes sports coordinator of Lens

In recent months, movements between Paris FC (L2) and Lens (L1) have increased. Two Parisian players were transferred to the vice-champion of France: Julien Le Cardinal for 2.5 million in November then Morgan Guilavogui, for 4 million in June. Two files in which Frédéric Hébert participated. It is the turn of the former sporting director of Paris FC, who left his post this summer after great successes during the various transfer windows, to join Lens.

His appointment as sports coordinator, discussed for a fortnight, was made official this Thursday by RC Lens in a press release:

“After taking advantage of the post-transfer period to take stock of its sporting structure, the Racing Club de Lens announces that it is changing its operation. Eager to move towards a more agile and operational model, the Artesian club has decided to appoint a sports coordinator in the person of Frédéric Hébert. Having worked with Paris FC, Paris Saint-Germain and Dijon FCO, clubs for which he worked with the professional group, training and women’s teams, his mission will be to provide a link in recruitment and to ensure the unity of the overall Sang et Or sporting project. He will be placed under the responsibility of the General Manager of the Racing Club de Lens, Franck Haise. »

Aged 39, Frédéric Hébert stopped his career as an amateur player in Île-de-France (Poissy, Villemomble, Fleury, Sainte-Geneviève) to become sports director of Paris FC in January 2020, a club where he also played and spent ten years in football school training to national U19 coach. Alongside his playing career, he also worked at PSG under the direction of Antero Henrique then Leonardo, as executive coordinator of the PSG scouting department (U17 to pros for France, Belgium, Switzerland).

He was presented to the players and employees this Wednesday and arrives with Romain Peyrusqué who also left Paris FC this summer where he was assistant coach of the L2 and recruiter. The arrival of Frédéric Hébert in Lens raises the question of the future of Grégory Thil. Promoted a year ago to replace Florent Ghisolfi, who left for Nice, the technical director is paying for a complicated transfer window. The tendency would be to leave, rather than return to your old position.
