Yamal broke the record held since 2012 by Fabrice Olinga, who was 16 years and 98 days old when he scored for Malaga.
“Iker Munian, Ansu Fati and Xisco Nadal complete the top five and are the only five of them who can score in the Spanish top division before their 17th birthday,” said ESPN.
This achievement adds to the shine of Yamal, which previously had also set a number of records. Last August he became Barcelona’s youngest debutant in an official match.
In September, Lamine Yamal also became the youngest player and goalscorer for Spain when he debuted at Georgia in qualifying for Euro 2024. At that time he was 16 years and 57 days old.
