Even though the 2023 season has only ended for a few days, the clubs are already planning diligently for the coming season. The Stealers published the first news about the future roster on their homepage yesterday. National player Kevin Van Meensel has extended his current contract in Hamburg until 2026 and will therefore strengthen the Bundesliga team over the next three years and also act as a coach in the ElbAkadmie and in the youth sector.

Van Meensel made his debut with the Stealers in 2022. Even back then, the 28-year-old came to the Elbe with long-term plans: “When I came here last year, my goal was to build something both in the short and long term. I feel very comfortable in Hamburg and especially with the Stealers.”

Head coach Wohlgemuth is pleased with Van Meensel’s future planning in Hamburg and is convinced that he will continue to improve in the coming season: “Kevin has had an outstanding season, even though he hasn’t played baseball for a long time. For this reason, I am very confident that he will play even better next season. Apart from his quality as a player, I’m just as happy that he will continue to work in the academy. Kevin’s contribution was critical to our successes in 2023.”
