Juvenile Court Judge Acquits 17-Year-Old for Armed Robbery Due to Immaturity

FOGGIA – Not condemnable because immature: this is what the judge of the Juvenile Court of Bari, Rossella Politi, decided during the hearing of the trial of a 17-year-old boy accused (and arrested red-handed) for an armed robbery damage to a bar in the province of Foggia. The judge acquitted the accused, originally from San Severo, for lack of imputability resulting from immaturity despite the hearing prosecutor having asked for an exemplary sentence of 8 years in prison.

The robbery took place in a small village in Foggiano, Casalvecchio: the boy was stopped and then beaten – even with a baseball bat – by some customers, while the two accomplices ran away and were then arrested a few days later.
