Judo Season Kicks off in Senigallia: Young Athletes Showcase Skills in Educational Event

On Sunday 29 October the sports season restarted in Senigallia for the youngest athletes of the judo section of the Polisportiva, who, just over a month after the resumption of courses, were able to test their skills in the first educational event of the season. The day began with 12-year-old Lin Iahui, one year after his first judo lesson, he participated in his first competitive competition. The very young athlete of the judo section faced two matches, managing to implement the schemes and actions studied during training, conquering the record in his weight category, with two beautiful “IPPON” (i.e. the judo KO).

The afternoon was the turn of 15 very young athletes aged 6 to 10. The educational event was full of joy thanks to the presence of clowns and an organization designed to put children at ease and calmly face a competition aimed more at managing emotions than at the absolute result.

The Polisportiva Riccione – Judo Section took 7th place among the companies out of 18 competing clubs thanks to the following results: 2 gold with Martinelli Maksim and D’Agostino Marco (both born in 2016), 7 silver with Martinelli Viktor (born in 2017) , Lopez Dylan (class of 2016), La Rosa Enea, Fratesi Dylan, Di Muro Michele (all class of 2015), Evan Pizzotti and Aureli Leone (both class of 2014) and 6 bronzes with Magnani Diego, Bagniuk Leonardo (class of 2017), Fratesi Gabriel (class of 2015), Longo Giulia, Valentini Greta and Matteini Giulia (all class of 2013).

Giuseppe Longo The technical director states: “Iahui is a very young athlete who has been doing judo for less than a year. He is very consistent in training and works hard. he has great physicality and is very gifted. Today he did his first competition demonstrating that he knows how to manage the emotion of being on the tatami and already in mid-November we will raise our sights and participate in the CSEN National Championship which will be held in Riccione on November 18th organized by the CSEN Nazionale with the help of our section. For the children, however, the event was playful but extremely educational. He gave us great operational input to direct the future activities of the various groups according to age. The children understood what they had to do and everyone showed very high levels of attention, which is not always a given during gym training. The work we do today with these children is not aimed at today’s or tomorrow’s success, but our goal is always to train young athletes to become good level athletes when they grow up, ranging on a technical level and doing a lot of basic and teaching them to manage their emotions in competition to give their best.”
