Jonathan Kuminga Aims to Take a Leap in His Third Season with the Golden State Warriors

After working during his first two seasons in the NBA to establish himself in Steve Kerr’s rotation, Jonathan Kuminga hopes to climb a couple more steps in his third year in the ranks of the Golden State Warriors.

The former Ignite player shared for the media NBC Sports that he has trained “diligently” over the summer to improve his game, especially in his reading. “I just want to continue growing as a player,” Kuminga began. «Improve the reading of the game to make it easier. The work you put in every day makes everything easier. I’ve been in the Bay as much as I could, playing a lot. “I did a lot this summer, trying to read the game, learn the rhythm, get involved in different areas and stuff.”

Kuminga, 21 years old and selected in seventh position in the 2021 draft, is confident in his possibilities and believes that he will make a very important qualitative leap in the short term. In fact, the power forward shared that he hopes to “become an All-Star in the next two seasons.”

Last year he closed with numbers of 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in a total of 67 games, 16 of them as a starter. However, his relevance in the playoffs was minimal, as he only averaged 6.1 minutes in the ten games in which he participated.
